Rumours etc in here

Already confirmed about Powelly (London Welsh) Bird (Resigned as Coach) and Gareth Williams (Cardiff) leaving at the end of this season.

Any other rumours/confirmed dealings out there?
Who would you like to see in a Ravens shirt next season?

Post away..

i would like to see the club keep an eye on the following players when they decide to call it a day at the top level, to give our squad the required experience they are all former ravens and should want to see out there semi pro careers with the club that gave them there chances;

adrian durston(where is he player.?
nathan thomas(scarlets
steve winn(cornish pirates
mamma molitika(blues
daniel jones (winger when we got our first 5 spot to enter heinken, where is he playing these days.?
craig warlow (any chance we can get him out of retirement.?
jamie ringer(dragons

Players i think we should try and sign;

ryan howells(cardiff
nathan strong(ponty
grant epton(maesteg
gareth owen(maesteg

Why would Nathan Strong want to leave a club which is successful?  His performance on Sat was great although he has been doing it weekin weekout for POnty since his departure from the BF.

It would take a lot of hard work by the background persons to secure his services.

Would love to see Grant Epton back with Neil Dixon.

We need 2nd rows so we should try to get the youngster Kyle Coulter in our ranks.

We'll probably sign players who are not getting much game time at other clubs mostly.

Shame about Denver leaving but you can't blame him because there's lots of money at Cardiff.

What we need are players who WANT to play for the Ravens and not splash out on people who only want more money than they're getting elsewhere.

A lot might depend on whether Maesteg survive or not.

Personally I can't see that many of the Maesteg tam are any better than what we've got and as Raven so rightly pointed out. we need players who want ot play for Bridgend and not for the money. Of the current Maesteg squad the only players who really stood out against us this season are in the front row and their back row Steffan Jones. I don't think any of their backs would add much to us and Neil Dixon and Grant Epton hardly set the world alite when they were with us before - one being too slow due to recurring injuries and the other lacking the skills needed at this level (you can make your own minds up over which is which). They also showed a lack of feeling for the Ravens or they wouldn't have left us in the first place.

Obviously it would be a benefit if the Ospreys were to place Gareth Owen with us (along with Webby) but how often are such players going to be available and what happens to team moral when players who give their all week in and week out are dropped to accomodate an Ospreys player who couldn't give a toss if we win or lose when he plays for us. For many of these Ospreys players it's just a run out to keep fit and they might be playing for someone else the following week anyway.

I hope Gareth David stays, he's a fantastic player.
But I agree with all you guys, Epton would be a good signing as would Gareth Owen.

Keep the rumours coming..

How many tries did Epton score for us when he played before?

I was gutted when he left, Ryan Howells has been another favourite Raven of mine in recent times, it would take us to break the bank for him to come back however. Same with Strongy, seen as we have lost Denver a signing at 8 is needed.

See who the Ospreys fancy giving us, retaining Webby, Bev, Pitman and Jones from them would be perfect.

You could see Rhys Webb & Gareth Owen playing for Bridgend tomorrow, as they were both in tonights training session.
