Ravens Forum - IMPORTANT

There's a few changes afoot...

The Ravens Supporters' Forum link is being removed from the main Bridgend Ravens website (for a number of reasons), so I recommend you bookmark this address to be able to use the forum in the future:

http://bridgendravens.myfreeforum.org/

Please note: All posts on this forum are the views of supporters and fans only and not representative of Bridgend Ravens Rugby Club Limited.
ravinmad

As we are all supporters of the club is there any reason that we shouldn't know why the forum is being removed from the site?

As the club is no longer owned by any individual perhaps the committee that represents us fans could tell us a bit more about what is happpening at the club these days and this forum is a way of there being an open dialogue for all those who follow Bridgend Ravens.

The forum is continuing, as is the website. There will just be no direct link FROM the BridgendRavens.co.uk website.
brian

With the forum being taken from the main web site, does this mean the web site, will be updated faster, as at the moment it is still giving the team to play the Ath.
ladyraven

I am glad that the forum will remain in some format, as I find it invaluable for news on players and team announcements, details of supporters buses etc.

But without a link on the main website, how are any new supporters supposed to find it?
ravinmad

I agree with ladyraven - how will any new fans or contributors find it.

we don't have enough supporters and we dont get enough supporter involvement in the club as it is. separating the website and the forum suggests that we are not an integral part of the club.

one of the reasons we get poor support at the moment is that people don't feel the club spirit and closeness to the committee you get in clubs like the Ath or pontypridd.

can you tell us WHY it is being moved?
didgi

WOW!!!  them and us is it?  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes
ravinmad

No. I just want to know why we're being moved away from the club's official website. I'm sure many others do as well.

One worry I have is that there is no link to this forum but there is a link to the ospreys website where there is another Bridgend forum. I hope this isnt another attempt to push Ravens fans towards the ospreys.
ihmed

Seems like a terrible idea to me - the forum gives more timely and accurate info than the website.

I guess it might help to tell us what the 'number of reasons' are.  There might be a simple and agreeable explanation which would assuage our curiosity.

Pray tell....

When information is provided to me, I will update.
I have full time work commitments, all Ravens marketing / advertising is done on a voluntary basis by myself.

This one here - http://www.ospreysrugby.com/forum/index.php

It's a bit off that the Ospreys are providing us with a forum, whilst the Raven's are cutting us off.

If they are unhappy about some of the comments, then surely it's better to keep them *in-house* as only us lot read this board anyway, than to risk them appearing over on the Ospreys one which is likely to get read by more people.
ladyraven

Couldn't you just leave the link, but emphasise your words above, as part of the link, or even a separate page after the link saying

We really need the forum.

Plus, this has alreday been raised on other rugby forums. A question was asked by supporters of another club-Are Bridgend ashamed of their supporters? Why are they deleting their forum.
link here.

It's making us even more of a laughing stock.

Please reconsider.

Pretty please?

Thanks Rhyd, at least we know now there is somewhere we can post our feelings as paid up supporters that the blazers, badge and tie brigade obviously undervalue

Any news yet? A lot of people are asking questions - Ravens fans and others. It seems to me that one of the things the club has been very poor at in recent years is COMMUNICATING.
ladyraven

The link is still there at the moment, perhaps there has been a change of heart.

Perhaps it would be nice if someone ACTUALLY from the club came on here to update the fans about this and other issues. No disrespect to Rhyd but as I said in an earlier post the club are very poor at communicating with supporters.

It would make sense if the chairman or secretary came on here (or at least on the website) and responded to supporters concerns.

I can only post what I am i) told to post and ii) what I feel I should post.
The forum is still here. Simple. Chat away...

Following discussions with Bridgend Ravens Managment we are pleased to announce that the decision to cut the official link to the forum has been reversed.

The managment have requested however that all users be reminded of the rules and disclaimer for this forum

There have been a number of problematic postings on various forums and there was concern that if this forum was abused in the same manner the rugby club itself could be held accountable. However after due consideration the value of this forum and the opportunity for fans to comment outwieghed the potential risks.

Posters are requested to remember that when posting on here and elsewhere they are putting forward views of a Bridgend Supporter and whilst they may not be representative of the opinion of the club they can be damaging to the image of the club and lead to repercussions not intended by the poster.

The managment welcome however healthy debate and constructive criticism and long may it continue on here the Bridgend Ravens Supporters Forum.

Maybe facebook could be utilised more as a supporter's tool, as there is a link on the Raven's main site to their facebook page.
