No disrespect to those teams, BUT we need to be playing higher quality teams pre-season I thought we learnt our lesson last year.
As for Maesteg where in Maesteg will we be playing them, their grounds been sold to Tescos for a petrol station.

I agree with BaldRaven. Those are not good enough to give a true test of our strength.

Why would we play Swansea when they are in our league? Why would we play fully professional sides, who contested a European final last season? That wouldn't be beneficial, that would be suicide, we would lose by 50-60 points against them.

These games are warm-ups, getting the team to gel, learning new calls and seeing how they play together. It is of no benefit to the team to play against teams like Bath, we won't play teams of their calible week in week out, so what's the point. Pertemps Bees will be the one where we would have a battle on our hands, good opposition to play against, especially at their place, that will show the strength of the squad. Kenfig Hill and Measteg will be more or less "trial games", trying out diffenent things, different players etc. with the result not in any doubt in either game.
Come on guys, who were you expecting to play pre-season? These are good fixtures, enjoy them!

Open my front door, walk down the street about 200 yards and look right. You can't miss it from the main road, it's got floodlight and a descent covered stand, good facilities, prob only us, maesteg and the police have got better grounds in the bridgend area.

We did that all last season and we only just stayed up

But how is facing a team like Bath going to improve how we do during the season? Having a hammering is no way good for us. Playing them will have no affect on how we fare during the season.

WE BASICALLY NEED TO HAVE A FEW GAMES WITH THE SAME OR EVEN BETTER LEVEL OF RUGBY THAN US. THIS WOULD HELP OUT WITH STENGTHS/WEAKNESS ETC AND HOPEFULLY IRONOUT ANY QUERIES BEFORE THE SEASON KICKS OFF.

Relegated this year.

Who do you suggest we play?
Pertempts Bees are good opposition to play against even if they were relegated last year, it's pointless playing away to a Premiership team and we can't expect the club to spend on travelling back and forth the border every weekend in August. It's a shame that we can't host an English League 1 side, remember Henley and even Pertemps, two good competitive clashes which we both won.
I don't see what we can learn from playing bigger teams, that we can't learn from these fixtures.
Look guys we are arguing over these fixtures, it's silly, we got them we will do well in them, we will learn about this side with them. Let's enjoy them.
