Few changes to Ravens squad....Nick Hopson (Full Back) added, as is Dave Smith (Number  , along with two scrum halves in (ex Maesteg) Lloyd O'Connor and Llyr Lane (on Dual Registration from Carmarthen Quins).

and who else have the quins got in there squad at 9 what is likelyhood that he would play for us.?

Smith and Hopson were the standout players for me on Saturday!!!....look like good aquisitions!
Didnt Llyr Lane used to play for Newport and Pontypool?
Or was that Brewery Lane? 
Maybe my Memory lane is letting me down!!!

Smith looked very good at the back of the scrum, a few of the other supporters I could see were very impressed with him. He took his try well.
Hopson was good when he came on too, gives us an option from FB now that Prydie is unlikely to pull on the Ravens jersey any time soon.
Ga, Quins have Sililo Martens and had another SH on trial the time we played them so maybe there may be match days that Llyr would be available for us. Hes proven at this level, wasn't he the Quins 9 last year, when they got promoted? He might be handy this weekend, as Quins play Saturday and we play Sunday.. if he's benching for Quins he could turn out for us I'm guessing.

Memory LaneI think Llyr Lane [if its the one Im thinking of] is a nuggetty chunk of a 9 who had a few games for the Newport Dragoooooons.
Pretty sure hes been around the Gwent Clubs....
How can you be on a dual contract or any contract at all if you are paid nowt>>>>>?????

I think he was yes. Tough, strong player, who's been around a bit.
Let's hope he's not lost it if he ever turns out for us!

Llyr " Clio" Lane is the Newport Dragons U18 skills coach and has played international 7s for Wales.[Matthew Back is the chief U18 coach at Rodney]
He has also been at the Scarlets and Newport.and Ebbw.
A very experienced player

Nick Hopson has just transferred from ATH to Tondu? He is a useful centre who can play Full Back - surprised we let him go?

Hope this isnt so as he was the outstanding player against Rhymney.
Not as if we are well blessed at FB as we only have 2nd dibs on Tom Prydie!

Prydie is dual registered with Swansea, and came on for them today as sub.
