Felinfoel PerformanceGutted!
A huge improvement on our last 2 games but our forwards faded in the 2nd half and they kept on taking the game to us. In the end the pressure was just too much. The ref? Hopeless. Having said that he was hopeless for both teams. It was just that we were slightly worse off. I thought in the first half the forwards provided us with good ball and the backs used it well. I thought Mark David made a big difference to the team and his delayed pass for the first try was real class.
Where were we poor?
1. Fitness levels didnt look too clever in the 2nd half.
2. Too many players got turned over or gave away penalties when we tookk the ball into contact. We have to look after the ball better and concentrate on body position.
3. Too many mistakes like sliced kicks, half tackles.
Still, it was a really big improvement. I reckon we'd have won our first 2 games if we'd played like that. Felinfoel are probably one of the best teams in the division and the game could have gone either way. If the team keep working hard and cut down on the errors we'll win far more than we lose.

Once we get it toigether we will be up there.....our 4 tries were all superb.
The ref was a complete disgrace but do we REALLY help our team by continually abusing them? Do we run the risk oif actually making them more biased against us>?
[especially as we will be getting the same refs over and over agin in this league...hmmmmm?]

Mark David learned those delayed passes on that patch of ground thought to be the site of the legendary Camelot, "The Old Parish".
Was the referee you had yesterday from Newport ?. If so it could be the one we had down at Pencoed - god have mercy.
The referee we had in Kidwelly we have had before and he is very good normally, as he was yesterday mostly except for a few inconsistencies.
One of their players was injured after about twenty minutes and there was a fifteen minute delay while they took him off, but then there was a fifty minute delay at half as the air ambulance landed on the field.
We kicked off the second half at 4.05 pm.

I don.t think the referee was abused yesterday. He was never sworn at but was totally incompetent. He never once picked up their backs for blatant offside and also refused to referee their forwards continually go off their feet at ruck time.At half time it was at least 14-2 penalty count against us and reckon overall about 28-6.My point is he wasn't fair.I knew at 27 25 he was going to give them a chance to win.So abusing and criticising are two different things,if I go into work tomorrow and give a bad performance i'll be spoken to.

I moved along the touchline, and whatever was getting shouted by Ravens supporters in one area, was being equally matched by the Felinfoel supporters, so I don't think that's going to affect the ref.
After watching the Bonymaen v Tonmawr game I can say the supporters yesterday (including the ref hecklers) were far more civilised. There was even a fight on the *terrace* in Bonymean!

We should have won that game, I think the coaches should have freshened up the pack much earlier, especially in the front row, and the tight head side was struggling. We have 2 good loose heads, big and good scrummagers. Positive feeling though that things are coming togrther.
