Bridgend Blue Bulls Supporters Touch Rugby LeagueWe have organised a touch rugby League game for the 28th June in Porthcawl vesus the Celtic Crusaders tag rugby team, The Celtic Barbarians. They are made up of Crusaders supporters of mixed ages and abilities like us. The game will be played as a curtain raised to the Bulls last home game of the regular season v the Neath Port Talbot Steelers. The duration of the game will be 20 minutes each half. As most of us have many Bridgend shirts the plan currently is to play in Blue!!
So, here is one of the places you can sign up to take part. we will be having 1 training session on the pre-ceding Wednesday evening (25th) and if the game is a success we may be able to schedule a rematch at the Brewery field as a curtain raiser to a Crusaders game later in the season.

If I knew what "spik" was I would answer.
It's not tag rugby anyhow as that involves contact and would rule out some of our players. It is 2 handed touch rugby.

Better pre-warn, Crusader Colts are playing Featherstone Lions on 28th June and will be a curtain raiser at 1 of the Conference games that day, why it matters is because it could be in Porthcawl before the Bulls game!

Thanks for the heads up but it shouldn't cause any problems, If it does clash we'll fit in around it. Either between or as a curtain raiser to the curtain raiser!! Will give me chance to have a rest and recover before running the water for the Bulls!

Good session tonight, good fun playing tag! Hopefully step up the training sessions a bit then we could compete with the Barbarians but you could tell they had been training a lot longer than us.

I've only just got back to work - nice little (!!!!!) dose of food poisoning / nasty stomach bug. Been in bed for 3 days. Can't even think about doing anything more strenuous than being in bed watching the Artois Tennis and Euro 2008. Not good. See you soon though. Got an idea for a summer pissup for Ravens fans.

lol the team be even worse if I took part. It was in wet conditions, so the tags would be very slippery, but if it's dry on the day, your won't have too much problems.

The Celtic Barbarians are trying to arrange a game against the Bulls at the Brewery Field on 2nd August.
However:
- Conference semi-finals are that day which may include Bulls
- Crusaders Colts are the curtain raiser that day facing Huddersfield Underbank Rangers.
BEWARE!!!!!!
Also, Wales A v Ireland A is in Porthcawl on 5th July, would it be a good idea to play the Barbarians on that day? (gives you guys an extra week, as well as being in front of a larger crowd), with the Colts still not confirmed where they will play on 28th June!

kicking getting better/tag pulling better/just need to be better org and someone calling back 10, because on the day the officials WILL penalise.
We need to get some more players so that we can rotate and keep fresh. Seeing as Doomsday is not far away anyone fancy an extra session next week just to run past a few things and have a light session?
Any suggestions.
We just need to speed things up a little and we will do ourselves proud on the day.

SAT 28TH JUNE - PORTHCAWL RUGBY CLUB - VS THE CBB'S (CELTIC BOYS BUCS, JUST THOUGHT OF THAT ONE, NOT BAD). TBC BY ALUN ON WED NIGHT.

The OFFICIAL timetable is as follows
18:00 Tues 24th on Bridgend Sports Pitch - Walkthrough of moves. 1/2 pace tops, no opposition. We don't want any injuries at this stage
18:30 Wed 25th - Light training by Cricket pitch as usual.
Sat 28th - KO TBC - Bridgend Blue Heifers v Celtic Barbarians - Porthcawl RFC 20mins each way. Kit - Any old Bridgend shirt (Must be Blue), random shorts socks etc.

I'll wait and see on that one. Some of us have a lot of commitments to honor first but in principle it is something that could be very enjoyable. Lets see what the plans are with regards to number of teams, standard of teams, clashes with Bulls/Ravens/Crisaders games etc etc.
