A big "THANK YOU" TO Chris StephensBird is/was a hell of a player and his commitment to Bridgend as a fine Player/Coach these last few years has been immense.
I remember speaking with Chris at Garndiffaith. Nobody suffered more than him that day - and it wasn't just his broken thumb either!
His frustration at being unable to play was only matched by his disbelief when a flanker was shoved on at prop!
That low point, followed by serious illness, would have seen a lesser man hang up his boots and take up Origami. (Or starting a blog!)
He was on the fringe of the Wales squad when his health deteriorated and some of us feared the worst more than once.
The benefits for Bridgend RFC and Bridgend Ravens when Chris returned to coach and then play can't be overstated.
Thank you for the mighty effort, Chris. I'd like to wish you all the best with your family and your business for the future.
