This time they've lost their coach.

| Quote: | Following a meeting between Head Coach Gareth Lintern and Managing Director Frank Stanton, it was agreed that in the best interests of Pontypool Rugby Football Club, that Gareth step down from his role and leave the club with immediate effect.
In a brief statement on behalf of the club, Frank Stanton commented as follows:
“Gareth was instrumental in our promotion back to the Premiership and he deserves credit for his role in saving the club from relegation last year. We have embraced modern training methods and player development under his direction and in the long term this will only benefit the club. He was an ambassador and consummate professional on behalf of Pontypool RFC.
Merril and I will always be grateful for his commitment to the club and we wish him luck in the future.
It is never easy taking such a decision, but we felt that the time is ready for a different approach, which everyone at the club, including Gareth, hopes rescues us from our current situation”. |

A new coach doesn't always mean improved results. |
